If Only We Knew...
Have you ever loved someone who just went astray?
You were so close. Then they derailed, left the tracks, and abandoned everything that mattered.
Perhaps it was your son or daughter.
Perhaps it was your brother or sister.
Maybe it was your mom or dad.
Or maybe it was your spouse or best friend.
You loved them so much, but you hated their choices.
You hated the addiction, the affair, the lifestyle, the lies, the pride, the fear...
Perhaps they said they loved you, but it sure didn’t look like it.
They forgot.
They ignored.
They were so easily distracted.
They avoided.
You loved them so desperately.
There was nothing you wouldn’t do for them.
But they couldn’t see it.
It just didn’t register.
They were chasing other things.
If they only knew how far you’d go.
If you know, you know.
The pain.
The longing.
The sleepless nights.
Jesus knows.
He loves us so much, even when He hates our choices.
We say we love Him, but it doesn’t look like it.
We forget.
We ignore.
We avoid.
We’re so easily distracted.
We’re chasing others.
He loves us so desperately.
It just doesn’t register.
If we only knew how far He went.
Oh, wait, we do know how far He went.
But let’s take the focus off us…
