One friend is boarding a Disney cruise with 23 family members. Another is preparing for her mother’s funeral.
Two friends are departing for their destination wedding. Two others are dividing their property.
One family is pleading for a child to stop crying and let them sleep. Another would give anything to hear their child just once more.
It’s just another day…
Unless you’re one of them. Then this one day is anything but ordinary.
How easily the ordinary blinds us to the extraordinary and the extraordinary blinds us to the ordinary. Yet, every ordinary day is extraordinary for someone.
Perhaps that couple is giggling about a pregnancy test rather than the stain on your shirt.
A rude stranger may be grieving a heart-shattering loss.
Maybe that speeding car is carrying someone to the hospital.
That disinterested co-worker may have had a sleepless night.
Perhaps that angry driver just discovered her husband’s unfaithfulness.
That guy who just sat there when the light turned green could be processing what his doctor told him.
Maybe your absent-minded neighbor is fighting back tears.
Perhaps what we may quickly label as dumb, careless, or mean would make sense if we knew what they know.
Of course we can’t know everything.
That’s why we show everyone GRACE.

I love this great reminder to always show grace. We never know what someone else is dealing with in life.
