Reflections
As we transition from one year to the next, here’s some reflections that help me do so with purpose & clarity:
1. Gratitude
What am I most grateful for from 2025? Who should I thank, and how can I express it meaningfully?
2. Helping Others
How did I help others grow or succeed in 2025? How can I do more of this in 2026?
3. Regrets
What do I regret from 2025? Do I need to make things right with anyone? How can I avoid repeating what led to my regrets?
4. Learning
What important lessons did I learn in 2025? What do I want to learn in 2026, and how will I make it happen?
5. Focus and Priorities
What consistently distracted me from what mattered most in 2025? What should I eliminate or reduce in 2026 to focus on what’s truly important?
6. Contributing
Where did I make the most significant positive impact in 2025 (family, work, community…) Where should I seek to make a greater positive impact in 2026? Who can support and encourage me in this commitment?
7. Health
Is my health better or worse than last year? What can I do to improve it in 2026?
8. Generosity
Was I genuinely generous in 2025? How can I grow in generosity in 2026?
9. Prayer
How consistent was my prayer life in 2025? How can I pray more regularly, especially with family, in 2026?
10. Scripture
How consistently did I read and understand the Bible in 2025? How would more consistency strengthen my faith & relationships? Who or what can help me stay motivated?
I’ve found that discussing these with someone else dramatically improves my follow-through.
Happy New Year!
John
